Building Healthier Relationships: A November Lunch & Learn Series
Healthy relationships help us feel respected, valued, and connected. This November, Jasper Place Family Resource Centre is joining The Today Centre to make space for conversations about relationships, communication, well-being, and boundaries through a free online Lunch & Learn series.
November is Family Violence Prevention Month in Alberta—an opportunity to raise awareness, recognize signs of abuse, and learn about available support. Community education helps us better understand family violence and how to support those affected.
Understanding family violence
Family violence can take many forms. Alongside physical harm, it can include emotional abuse, threats, financial control, isolation, and digital monitoring. It can affect people of any age, background, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Recognizing these behaviours can help people identify concerns and find support.
Responsibility for abusive behaviour always rests with the person using it. Conversations about communication, stress, and boundaries offer opportunities for learning; someone experiencing abuse is never responsible for preventing another person’s violence.
