Loose parts are materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in infinite ways. Loose parts can be used alone or combined with other materials of your liking. There are no rules or directions for materials that are considered loose parts. The child is the direction.
Imagination, creativity, curiosity, desire, and need are the driving forces of loose parts. We are excited to present our ongoing participant’s creations and explorations with our ‘Loose Parts’ kit.
Here are some of the pictures shared by this lovely family with us. Her words speak for her experience and we are glad they enjoyed creating it.
“She made a headband and some bracelets, a collage, and a milk bottle with a straw. She put “eggs” in the egg carton. Her play was completely led by her. I did not make any suggestions. I was happy to see how the materials sparked her creativity and imagination.”
